Intro Blog

  Hello! I am Julianna Haslbeck. I am 16 years old and will turn 17 on November 22. One thing about me is that I love my car. Idrive a 2016 Toyota Camry SE. I also love animals. One day I dream of owning a farm with many animals. I am still at  Fort Lauderdale Highschool. I am a Junior and this is my second year in AICE Media Studies. Currently, in Fort Lauderdale High School, I am on the NJROTC Drill Team. In Drill, we learn precision with the military structure. Since Last year, I ranked up from a Cadet Chief Petty Officer to a Cadet Lieutenant.  Junior Grade.I am looking forward to using my precision skills in AICE Media Studies. I am also looking forward to building my friendships. I have friends that had this class last year like me and we all speak very highly of the class. We are now in the A level. I hope with this class I can continue to learn how to be creative and how to think outside of the box. For now, I will plan accordingly with my future group. My goal is to make an amazing film however, that can also be informative to the curriculum. I hope my future group enjoys working with me and finds me helpful. If they do not, I will try my hardest to work with them as much as possible. I want my team to be fully functioning at all times. Especially, since this is an AICE class.

  How do your products represent social groups or issues?   Our short film focuses on some of the issues that high school students face. In this case, Macie, the new girl, attends yet another new school because of her Dads job . Being "the new kid" is difficult enough on its own, but Courtney makes Macie's first few days at school even more difficult. Courtney is envious that her crush, Jacob, prefers Macie over her. This causes fued in the teens and creates drama which is common in high school social groups. Camille and I filmed the school parts first because that was our biggest concern. I wanted to make sure we got those done since spring break is coming up. Since we finished the school parts we are going to focus on the solo ones. Therefore, today after school Camille came to my house. She helped me film the parts where I am getting ready for school. To start, she used a medium shot to show me waking up for school. Then we started getting Macie ready for school. Camille did a close up of me doing my make-up and picking my outfit. Our biggest challenge was the breakfast scene. We wanted to do a close-up of my mom cracking an egg into a pan, but we couldn't get it right the first couple times. So we kepted wasting eggs. But it was pretty funny. Camille also did a close up of me my phone scrolling while my mom and I were having dialogue. Difficulties in Actors- Production Blog

 I'm collaborating on the short film with my friend Camille. I'm glad I can work with her because she's a good friend of mine, and I think we work well together.. However, making a film with only two people in the group is kind of more difficult. We should have been more cautious about our ideas for our short film because there are only two of us, and we should have considered ways to make it easier for us to film without the need for extra people. However we got lucky because we have some friends that are willing to help us with out film. And thankfully, they have some experience with film. Me an camilles friend Mya who is also on my Waterpolo team will play Emma and will also assisting with filming. Kameron, another friend of me and Camile,  will play Jacob.
