Quiet on the Set- Film Blog

 Sunday was the most productive day I have had a while for my AICE Media Studies class. My group and I planned to go along with the story board and film at Hollywood Beach for our music video. I told the boys to be there by 3:15. They were there at 3:11 and I got there at 3:30. The first thing my dad and I did when we got to the beach was find parking in the Margaritaville Hotel Garage. As we are leaving the garage to go find Sean and Beckett my dad hands me the parking ticket from the garage to hold onto. Sean and Beckett are waiting at Puffles just like I told them to do. We go over the storyboard and make a filming plan. One thing that we did not expect was there to be rain, however it started getting cloudy and windy so we knew we had to hurry up. As we pick a spot for my first scene we all decide that it would be best if my dad films the music video so that all three of us could be in it. As we film the second scene we have to teach my dad what a high angle shot is. My dad is familiar with film so that was a bonus. As we are filming our third scene (talking while sitting on our towels at a low angle) I realize I lost the parking ticket my dad handed me. We all start panicking and looking for it. Long story short we never found it and the garage charged my dad $30 for parking. To get some cool angles in our video my Dad filmed us washing off at a diagonal angle. As we were walking to puffles to film our last scenes, my dad stayed a little behind to film us walking from behind us and starts zooming in so that we could have extra clips just in worse case. When we get to puffles Sean runs into one of his friends that go to FLHS. We all got icecream including my dad. The purpose of getting icecream was so that we could have props in our video. We film the last scene which is at an eye level angle and it is just of all three of us walking with the Hollywood beach sign behind us. And that was a wrap! Lastly we needed a shot of just the Hollywood sign that is green that you see on the road but Sean and Beckett did that on their way back home from the beach! Overall, very productive day.

Camille and I filmed the school parts first because that was our biggest concern. I wanted to make sure we got those done since spring break is coming up. Since we finished the school parts we are going to focus on the solo ones. Therefore, today after school Camille came to my house. She helped me film the parts where I am getting ready for school. To start, she used a medium shot to show me waking up for school. Then we started getting Macie ready for school. Camille did a close up of me doing my make-up and picking my outfit. Our biggest challenge was the breakfast scene. We wanted to do a close-up of my mom cracking an egg into a pan, but we couldn't get it right the first couple times. So we kepted wasting eggs. But it was pretty funny. Camille also did a close up of me my phone scrolling while my mom and I were having dialogue. Difficulties in Actors- Production Blog

 I'm collaborating on the short film with my friend Camille. I'm glad I can work with her because she's a good friend of mine, and I think we work well together.. However, making a film with only two people in the group is kind of more difficult. We should have been more cautious about our ideas for our short film because there are only two of us, and we should have considered ways to make it easier for us to film without the need for extra people. However we got lucky because we have some friends that are willing to help us with out film. And thankfully, they have some experience with film. Me an camilles friend Mya who is also on my Waterpolo team will play Emma and will also assisting with filming. Kameron, another friend of me and Camile,  will play Jacob.
