Film in School day 1- Production Blog

 Today during our 8th period, Me Camille Kameron and Mya started filming. All of us came to school in our costumes since our costumes are based on what teenagers wear. therefore, it was pretty normal for us. Kameron recorded the first in school scene of Macie walking into the bus loop. It starts with a Pan/ establishing shot of Courtney her friend and boyfriend talking in the bus loop. I filmed this part. It starts with a medium shot of Macie walking to the bus loop. She is having self - dialogue, trying to calm herself down. Then a close up of Courtney is shot to show her reaction of the "New Girl" walking in. Then both her friend and boyfriend get close ups. A medium shot is used to show the groups dialogue. Then a switch to Macie looking at them nd realizing they are talking about her. Macie is holding her schedule in her had. Kameron filmed a close up of the schedule to show that it was a schedule. Courtney makes fun of her then dismisses her group. However a shot between Jacob and Macie is shared after the group leaves. Camille filmed this. Macie runs into Jacob and drops all of her books. Jacob helps her pick them up, and while they are bending over, a two-shot is used to show their intense eye contact. Dialouge is shared and eventually Jacob is helping Macie find her class. A high-angle that is filmed behind both characters is used to show then walking to class. Then I filmed a close-up shop of Courtney, who just learned that her boyfriend is not only talking to the New girl, but showing her around. This is where we stopped. We ensured to follow our story board completely. Even though we could not finish all of our filming at school, we are going to finish it tomorrow during study hall. Overall, today was so productive and we are so proud.

In this case, Macie, the new girl, attends yet another new school because of her Dads job . Being "the new kid" is difficult enough on its own, but Courtney makes Macie's first few days at school even more difficult. Courtney is envious that her crush, Jacob, prefers Macie over her. Camille and I filmed the school parts first because that was our biggest concern. I wanted to make sure we got those done since spring break is coming up. Since we finished the school parts we are going to focus on the solo ones. Therefore, today after school Camille came to my house. She helped me film the parts where I am getting ready for school. To start, she used a medium shot to show me waking up for school. Then we started getting Macie ready for school. Camille did a close up of me doing my make-up and picking my outfit. Our biggest challenge was the breakfast scene. We wanted to do a close-up of my mom cracking an egg into a pan, but we couldn't get it right the first couple times. So we kepted wasting eggs. But it was pretty funny. Camille also did a close up of me my phone scrolling while my mom and I were having dialogue. Difficulties in Actors- Production Blog

 I'm collaborating on the short film with my friend Camille. I'm glad I can work with her because she's a good friend of mine, and I think we work well together.. However, making a film with only two people in the group is kind of more difficult. We should have been more cautious about our ideas for our short film because there are only two of us, and we should have considered ways to make it easier for us to film without the need for extra people. However we got lucky because we have some friends that are willing to help us with out film. And thankfully, they have some experience with film. Me an camilles friend Mya who is also on my Waterpolo team will play Emma and will also assisting with filming. Kameron, another friend of me and Camile,  will play Jacob.
